My Brothers,

I want to thank you for the vote of confidence in electing me your Deputy Grand Master for the ensuing year.

Our Grand Lodge has a system of Masonic Education second to none. We need to use it and educate every Brother in our Craft. Let’s start with Master Mason Exams I, II, and III, then take the Masonic Leadership Training Course and finally Lodge Officers Training Courses I, II, and III. Of course our education does not stop here. Please get with the Masonic Education Chairman in your Lodge and/or District to take these courses.

If you wish to serve Grand Lodge in my year as Grand Master (2018), I have a small requirement. Every Brother should have taken these courses before any consideration for any position. In addition, all District Instructors should already have their Blue Proficiency card.

My Brothers, I remind you of the second question you were asked in the EA Degree Proficiency. Let’s all of us improve ourselves in Masonry. An Educated Mason is a Dedicated Mason. And I quote “knowledge is power” by Sir Francis Bacon.

I look forward to seeing everyone in our future travels, may God Bless each and every one of you, may God Bless our Fraternity, and May God Bless the United States of America and all who serve it.

Fraternally Yours,

John E. Karroum
Deputy Grand Master
