I would like to sincerely thank the Craft for electing me to the office of Junior Grand Warden. I am truly humbled by this honor and deeply grateful for the trust and confidence you have placed in me. It is both a privilege and an honor to serve, and I want to personally thank each of you for believing in me. I look forward to working alongside you in continued service to our Great Fraternity.
As Junior Grand Warden, I recognize that the strength of our leadership does not lie in individual titles but in our unity as a team. Together—the Junior Grand Warden, Senior Grand Warden, Deputy Grand Master, and Grand Master—we are entrusted by the Craft to lead with integrity, wisdom, and purpose. Each role carries its own responsibilities, but it is through collaboration, mutual respect, and shared vision that we truly serve the Fraternity. When we are unified, we set the tone for harmony, inspire confidence among our members, and uphold the timeless values of our institution. Leadership is not about leading alone; it is about walking together in service to a greater cause.
Being a leader is not about titles or quick wins—it is the result of consistent effort, accumulated knowledge, and experience gained over time. True leadership cannot be mastered in a week; it requires patience, humility, and the willingness to learn from failure. As Simon Sinek explains, leadership is like brushing your teeth—you do not see results immediately, but if done consistently, it creates a lasting impact. He also emphasizes that leadership is not about being in charge, but about taking care of those in your charge. Great leaders, according to Sinek, create environments where people feel safe, valued, and inspired to contribute. It is through these daily habits, not a single seminar or crash course, that one truly becomes a leader.
We may not always remember the exact words someone said or the specific actions they took—but we never forget how they made us feel. Emotions leave lasting impressions, far deeper than words or deeds alone. This truth holds incredible power when it comes to leadership and community. If we want to change a culture, we must begin by changing how we make each other feel. A culture of trust, respect, and encouragement is built not through grand gestures, but through everyday interactions that leave others feeling seen, valued, and uplifted. When we lead with empathy and intention, we do not just influence moments—we transform environments.
As we move forward together, I am committed to serving with dedication, humility, and an open heart. Let us continue to uplift one another, strengthen our bonds, and uphold the proud traditions of our Fraternity. Together, there is no limit to what we can achieve.
Fraternally,
R∴W∴ Robert W. Estell, Jr.
